Acoustics well conditioned
If the office space is acoustically well-conditioned and employees still complain about excessive noise, the cause is usually a few loud voices. These individuals can learn to adjust their speaking style in group settings with the help of the speech trainer. Like a traffic light, the speech trainer glows green when you speak in a relaxed and subdued manner. This significantly reduces the need for other employees to overhear your voice and increases the confidentiality of your conversation. The volume of your voice (measured by the speech trainer) is a maximum of 54 dB(A) at a distance of one meter when the indicator is green, which corresponds to subdued speech according to ISO 9921. Directly at your mouth, i.e., where you speak into a telephone receiver or headset, your volume is approximately 60 dB(A) when the indicator is green – loud enough for any communication. As the volume increases, the display turns yellow (above 54 dB(A)) and later red (above 65 dB(A)). Your voice is subjected to considerable strain, sounds very loud, and can be perceived as stressful. Clean only with a soft cloth; do not use alcohol-based cleaning agents. The speech trainers function flawlessly only in acoustically well-conditioned rooms. Therefore, the rooms should comply with the VDI 2569 standard.
